![]() Ah yes, my picture. However can I explain my picture? Let's start with the sock. The sock symbolizes how life can start out all warm and fuzzy, but after a little while, it can become smelly and full of holes. The sock in the picture is clean and soft-looking to represent it beginning its life. But, it could be a sock imitator! In real life, it might be a shrunken, smelly old sock wearing a disguise, which once again symbolizes life by representing all the fake people in the world. Now let's move on to the ear. The ear represents the deep inner feelings I have for drawing Yoda ears. It is a most expressive ear with its earthy color and its wrinkled exterior. The hint of white hair growing inside it shows the age of the ear and one is forced to ponder the life that an ear like that must have had. The same love and attention that shines through in my earlier works such as "The Surgically Altered Foot," is also apparent in the nose that looms over this painting. After the majestic foot with its awe-inspiring toes, the next best body part is the nose. This is a clean nose with no need for a tissue. This nose represents all the innocent people in life that are not yet dirtied by those such as the imitation sock. Of course, those who do seek to demoralize the clean noses of the world must be punished! Therefore, I have included the guillotine brandished by the wise old ear. The venerable ear is wise to the ways of the imitation sock and is ready to snip off a few threads should it try any of its corrupt voodoo witchcraft on the naive nose. Let's move on to the spoon. One may wonder what the importance of such a large spoon is. In fact, an immense spoon is needed to hold the amount of food necessary to create a strong enough odor for the nose to detect. But you may notice that there is no food in the spoon! That is because the spoon and the sock are evil buddies trying to kidnap the nose. The spoon would bait the nose with some nice smells and then the sock would sneak up on the nose and capture it, but alas, it is a stupid spoon and forgot about the food that would make the smell. The ear would have caught them anyway. To sum up, spoons are representative of the temptation in life. So now you're probably thinking that the alien hand is a criminal as well. Not true! The spoon told the hand that he couldn't reach something and asked the hand if he wouldn't mind helping him out. Of course, the hand, being a nice guy and all, said "Sure!" and in doing so got caught up in this whole mess. This fine and considerate hand teaches us that even people who look weird are probably nice inside. And squishy-looking knuckles are fun to paint. The candle characterizes the aristocracy of society. While it smells nice and is a pretty color, it could toast a marshmallow just like the campfire, who was brought up on the wrong side of the tracks. Speaking of marshmallows, the one you see in the picture was thrown by a little boy near a campfire who ran away screaming after he saw all these body parts walking around. Finally, we get to the flag creating the background of the picture. This symbolizes the Canadian government working to keep scum like the sock and the spoon out of the Great White North. And we see that the nose is a true Canadian in the way that its country's flag shines through. |
